Give your answer to this query beneath! Learn The Right Way To Raise Your Children With These Hints

It’s safe to bet that the day your child was born was one of the best days in your life. There is no connection stronger than the one that is between a parent and their child. These parenting tips can help you keep your connection strong with your kids and your child is the best he can be.

If you have adopted a child, prepare early for ways to lovingly address the subject when he is ready. Adopted children are curious about where they came from and sooner or later, they are going to want answers, which they will turn to you for. Be as open and honest with them as possible; lying is never the best tactic and could cause them to resent you.

Routines help people know what to anticipate throughout the day, without surprises. Focus especially on homework time, meal times and bedtime. Being consistent will help a child be more well-behaved.

As your child get older and spends more time alone with friends, they may pick up on some bad language. Let him know beforehand what is and is not acceptable in your home, and if his vocabulary strays into unacceptable territory, tell him so immediately. To avoid embarrassing him, correct him once the two of you are alone.

Instead of telling your children what not to do, put the emphasis on what they should do. If you are constantly reminding the kids of what they are not allowed to do, they may feel like their freedom is being trampled. Allow them to feel a measure of control by highlighting things that are permissible.

Set a good example for your children by regularly eating fruits, and vegetables. You will be morel likely to eat something healthy if you do this.

When giving your child his medicine, try mixing it up with something sweet-tasting. Orange juice is a great suggestion, but if that doesn’t work, you could just add a little bit of sugar to the medicine. When applying eye drops, have your child keep their eyes closed, and put the drop directly on the eyelid. When they open their eye the medicine will drop in, and you will not have fighting or struggling.

If you and your child can build a healthy relationship while they are still young, it will carry on to their teenage years, allowing for positive and meaningful communication between the two of you. The tips in this article can help you get started on building that relationship or enhancing the one that you already have.

RECARO WILL SEND A LONGER REPLACEMENT HARNESS, January 11, 2012
    By

This review is from: RECARO ProSPORT Combination Harness To Booster Car Seat, Blue Opal (Baby Product)

Just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with Recaro today and beginning in July 2011, they started manufacturing this model with a longer harness and they will send a new replacement harness to anyone who purchased the previous model. Hope this helps those of you (like myself) who were struggling with short straps! It is really a great (albeit heavy) seat that had a major flaw, which seems to have now been corrected!

I love it, but my son likes the Frontier better, September 1, 2011

This review is from: RECARO ProSPORT Combination Harness To Booster Car Seat, Blue Opal (Baby Product)

I had a very tough time deciding between the ProSport and the Frontier SICT. Both were available via amazon prime, so I bought the ProSport for my car and the Frontier for my wife’s SUV.

First words out of my Son’s mouth when sitting in the ProSport with the harness (coming from the older Marathon): “This is uncomfortable daddy”. His issue was the head rest, it’s actually quite hard and the wings block side to side visibility.

A few weeks later when the Frontier showed up it was a different story. He loved the cup holders and the arm rests, and also commented that he found it much more comfortable.

I figured I would add that to the base of reviews here.

  5. carseattech says:

Check with your local police dept. for a copy of the actual laws. From a safety standpoint though…..she can start using a full back booster WITH harness once she’s a year old AND 20 lbs. However, it is safer to keep her rear facing as long as possible. (check the weight requirements on her seat) Technically though, the full back boosters with the harness can be used as young as one year old provided, as I said, that she is also over 20 lbs. Once she has reached the weight limit of the harness straps, you can remove them from the seat and use it as a belt positioning booster. The type of booster seat you use depends on your vehicle. She needs to have some type of head rest behind her head whether it is from the actual booster seat or from the vehicle seat.

  6. scatterbunny2003 says:

State laws are actually the “floor”, the bare minimum, not the “ceiling” or what is actually safest and best practice for your family.

A child should not move to a belt positioning booster seat (the kind without a harness) until a minimum of 4 years old and 40 pounds. Both, not one or the other.

Harnessing longer is safer. Kids under age 5-6 have a higher rate of head injury and death if they are in boosters rather than harnesses. Younger kids have larger, heavier heads in proportion to their bodies. A heavier head means greater stress put on the vulnerable neck in a crash. Internal decapitation can occur. :o(

Kids can outgrow harnessed seats even before reaching the harnessed weight limit. If shoulders go over top harness slots, the seat is outgrown by height. Also, if the tips of the ears go over the top of the seat shell, the seat is outgrown by height. Top of head over top of seat shell is fine, what matters is that the tips of the ears stay below the top of the seat shell and the shoulders stay below the top slots.

Most kids do outgrow most harnessed seats by height before weight, but we want kids harnessed to a minimum of 40 pounds.

Great seats that have tall enough top slots to get almost all kids to a full 40 pounds in the harness are:

Graco Cherished, Ultra or Platinum CarGo (great harnessed seat, so-so booster, won’t be the last booster your child will need because it’s short and does not adjust taller)

Evenflo Chase, Traditions (same as the CarGo–great harnessed seat, so-so booster)

Evenflo Bolero, Generations (good as both harnessed seat and long-term booster)

Recaro Young Sport (fantastic harnessed seat and fantastic booster)

Great seats that will harness a child longer than 40 pounds are:

Cosco/Safety 1st Apex/Alpha Elite Apex/Safety 1st Biltmore (all the same basic seat, harnesses to 65 pounds, Biltmore has the tallest top slots, requires high vehicle seatbacks and/or headrests at least up to the tips of the child’s ears at all times because it is too flimsy to provide crash head support, harnesses most kids to age 5-7 and converts to a booster)

Sunshine Kids Radian (actually a convertible carseat that rear-faces to 33 pounds and forward-faces to 65 pounds, but the top slots are higher than most of the other seats mentioned already, except the Biltmore, so kids can make it harnessed in this seat to age 5-7)

Britax Regent (has the tallest top slots of all seats on the market, and highest harnessed weight limit of 80 pounds, most kids don’t outgrow this until age 8-10, sometimes a booster isn’t even needed after the Regent is outgrown)

  7. Joolsplus3 says:

Not till she’s outgrown a harnessed seat, no younger than age four or 40 pounds. It’s a step down in safety to move from a 5 point harness to a 3 point seatbelt in a booster, and you should look forward to that demotion in safety with dread. I still have my 9 and 7 year olds harnessed in their Britax Regents, because it is safEST for them to be harnessed.
