How To Break The Biting Habit In A Child

Few things are more exciting and overwhelming than the prospect of becoming a parent. Here is some advice and tips to get you started on the journey of parenthood.

Never give any type of soda to a baby or toddler. Only give your child drinks that offer nutrients and vitamins. Milk, water and juices are great examples of drinks that are good to offer your child.

Make sure your children know when and how often to wash hands. Doing this will work to keep them healthy.

Be a good example by eating whole grains, vegetables and fruit. This will increase the chances of your child making the same healthy choices.

When teaching young children about something new, chart their accomplishments. Every time your child accomplishes the new task, give him or her a sticker for the chart. Once the chart has been sufficiently filled in, your child can be rewarded for his success. A chart like this enables the child to see his accomplishments, and it motivates him to work harder because he knows that there will be a reward at the end.

Boost your kid’s self-esteem by having them play team sports. Supporting and emboldening your child by being present at games will build solid character traits and memories for a lifetime.

Focus on the positive with your children, such as what they should be doing instead of what they shouldn’t be doing. When you help them and level with them, they don’t feel as restricted, and you make them feel more free when they listen to your advice rather than your demands. Allow them to feel a measure of control by highlighting things that are permissible.

Before administering medicine to your child, it may be helpful to mix each dose in something sweet. Orange juice is a great suggestion, but if that doesn’t work, you could just add a little bit of sugar to the medicine. When you need to administer eye drops, ask the child to keep their eyes closed while you apply the drops to their eyelid. When the eye is opened, the drops will fall into place.

Following these guidelines will allow you to form a solid, comprehensive foundation for future parenting experiences. Bear in mind though that every parenting experience is totally unique. There is no perfect way to parent. Therefore, use whatever advice fits your parenting style. Think about parenting as a unique opportunity to get closer with another human being, and as a very enriching experience.

I love this potty! What a way to encourage potty training when you pee pee the music goes on by sensor telling baby he/she did a great job, litteraly. Nothing like my first had, and besides the music reward, the seat can be put on the big potty when it’s time and the rest is used as a step stool to get up to the big pot. Super happy with this and totally recommend it to ease potty training!!! LOVE

I am so frustrated with this potty chair. It is designed to do too many “cool” things, and as a result does not perform it’s main purpose very well at all – which is to be a potty chair. Please do not buy this UNLESS you would really like a stool for your child that can occasionally be used as a potty – NOT the other way around. The “pee shield” is terrible because it moves around way too easily, is not big enough to shield anything, pinches my sons’ thighs, and pops right off w/ the slightest pull. It DOES NOT serve a purpose other than injuring your child. Also the white potty seat lifts off very easily. When my son moves around on the potty or stands up, the white part lifts off as well!! If you do close the lid to use as a stool, a child cannot move the stool very well because the while seat can lift off easily as mentioned above. Therefore, the chair comes apart when they try to pick it up to move it. I totally hate this chair and HIGHLY recommend buying a SIMPLE potty chair instead.
